Warren County Native Appointed as County Attorney

The Warren County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce the appointment of Shiekel Richardson as the county’s new County Attorney.  The Warren County Board of Commissioners approved the appointment during a special meeting held on February 15, 2023, directly following their annual strategic planning work session.  Richardson will assume the position on February 28, 2023.

Richardson is a proud product of Warren County Schools. She holds a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and a Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University. Richardson was admitted to the North Carolina Bar Association in January 2020.

Richardson has previously served in the Town of Wake Forest, assisting former Warren County Attorney, Hassan Kingsberry, in his role as Town Attorney for the Town of Wake Forest.   Additionally, Richardson has experience with the North Carolina Department of Commerce as a Hearing Officer, supporting the NC Employment Security Commission, Legal Aid of North Carolina, and in private practice with the Law Office of Stella D. Jones in Henderson, NC.

“With all the great things happening in Warren County, the Board of Commissioners and I are pleased that we have a Warren County native who has become an attorney, and has now chosen to serve the county where she received her start,” stated Warren County Board of Commissioner Chair Bertadean Baker. “This is an outstanding example for the community and our students here in the County.”
