Newly Named Petco Love Invests in Lifesaving Work of Warren County Animal Control and Animal Ark

Warrenton, NC (April 12, 2021) – Warren County Animal Control and Animal Ark announced today a $5,000 grant investment from the newly named, Petco Love, to support their lifesaving work for animals in Warren County.

Petco Love is a nonprofit leading change for pets nationally by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since their founding in 1999 as the Petco Foundation, they’ve empowered organizations with nearly $300 million invested to date in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And, they’ve helped find loving homes for more than 6.5 million pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations, like ours, nationwide.

“Today Petco Love announces an investment in Warren County Animal Control and Animal Ark and hundreds of other organizations as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessary euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, President of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only one component. This month, we will also launch the first of our national tools to empower all animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us.”

“We are so grateful for Petco Love’s investment that will allow us to continue our spay/neuter programs. These programs have made it possible for our citizens to be able to receive these services at an affordable rate. This investment will also help with our newly established Community Cat Program, which will provide surgery at a reduced rate to citizens who have cats in need on their property,” said Dani Bowen, Director of Warren County Animal Control and Animal Ark.

The Warren County Animal Control and Animal Ark is a county agency that offers animal control services and operates the Animal Ark Animal Shelter for the citizens of Warren County, North Carolina. Since 1974, Warren County Animal Control has provided animal control services. Warren County Animal Control and Animal Ark offers one year rabies vaccinations, microchipping and adoptions.

The agency provides several spay and neuter programs that provide surgery at free or reduced rates. The agency works with many rescue organizations to save hard-to-place, sick or injured and pregnant/nursing dogs and cats.
