Adoption
The Animal Ark is open Monday through Friday 11-4 for adoptions. Animals coming into the animal shelter are stray or unwanted, little is known regarding the animal's breed, temperament or health status. Shelter employees attempt to learn all their can so potential adopters can make informed decisions regarding adoption. Unwanted animals surrendered to the shelter are available, if adoptable, immediately. Stray animals must be held for 72 business hours to allow the owner an opportunity to reclaim the animal. Once the 72 hour stray hold is complete the animals are available to the public for adoption before a rescue can pull the animals. Pregnant, sick or injured animals are not available for adoption.
