Job Duties

Performs routine clerical tasks; answers multi-line phone system; takes messages and  routes calls to appropriate personnel; assists with budget tracking; maintains correspondence records, employee training records, etc.; completes departmental payroll duties; maintains/updates standard operating procedures; organizes and conducts departmental educational programs; completes/submits periodic reports and correspondence; performs related tasks as required.

Soil & Water Conservation Director

Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented with course work in Business Administration and considerable experience in the office of an executive including some supervisory experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:  Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and secretarial techniques; thorough knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic; thorough knowledge of the organization and functions of the department and of general administrative policies and practices; ability to keep office records and  to prepare office records from file sources; ability to perform and organize work independently; ability to prepare effective correspondence on routine matters and to perform routine office management details without prompting from supervisor; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.  Basic knowledge of natural resources and agricultural commodities preferred.
