Position Description: Animal Shelter Attendant*

Job Duties

Handles and cares for animals in the animal shelter; cleans and maintains the facility and grounds while being subject to extreme working conditions both inside and outside as well as hazards such as noise, atmospheric conditions, cleaning agents, and other hazards associated with working with sick, injured, and aggressive animals; assists other Animal Control staff as needed; performs related tasks as required.

Animal Control Director

Education and Experience

Graduation from high school; six months experience working or volunteering in an animal care and welfare facility; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Valid North Carolina driver’s license required.
