Job Duties

Performs difficult technical and protective service work in providing emergency medical services to critically ill and injured patients under emergency conditions; performs related work as required.

Emergency Services Sergeant

Education and Experience

 Any combination of education & experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Depending on position, education and experience must be supplemented by NIMS courses.  All candidates must possess a valid Driver’s License and appropriate North Carolina EMT certification.  CPR, ICS 100,200,700 & 800 required for EMT – Intermediate & Paramedic.   ACLS, ITLS, PALS, EVD & Hazardous Materials Level 1 preferred.

SALARY:   Commensurate with level of certification:

$27,458 annually for EMT - Basic                                  $30,272 annually for EMT - Intermediate                      $33,375 annually for EMT - Paramedic
