Warren County partners with Haliwa-Saponi Tribe to support community recreation area

In an effort to grow satellite recreation spaces in Warren County, the Warren County Board of Commissioners provided funding to the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe in support of Phase 1 of the tribe’s new community recreation area. Currently, community recreation areas are not present in the southern part of Warren County. This project will work to provide access to recreation resources for residents in that area (and residents from all over the county that desire to visit).

Funding for satellite recreation areas is included in the FY 21 budget. Pictured below are the Warren County Board of Commissioners with leadership of the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe.
